most common cause is the hand brake cables seized up in the guides either side of the rear axle.

there is also the chance that the handbrake levers on the trailing shoes are seized up

or if there is a lot of dust built up inside the drum then sumtimes wen damp this can lead the rear brakes dragging

could be wheel cylinders leaking brake fluid on to shoes causing them to stick to drum.

it can be caused by a lip on the drum or lack of copper slip on backplate. Ive fixed a few corsas/novas with the problem

Yea, I release the handbrake, but one or both of the back drums stay locked.

Does anyone elses hand brake stick on when they park up and leave the car standing for a while. Mne keeps on sticking on both of my cars and it's getting realy annoying!

How do I fix it?
