I cleaned the connections on the air flow meter last night and checked the wires were ok. Just used WD40. Also sprayed a bit around the idle speed control valve, couslnt see much so just randomly sprayed in that direction lol.

Drove it this morning and it idled at 900rpm every time i pulled up. and seems smoother. wonder if it will stay same though!

wow loads of replies. my eml comes on very occasionally. usually on a long run on motorway but is very random. is more jerky when it comes on though. i have a new ISCV so gonna fit that and see how it is. cleaned connections up on the airflow meter so will see how that is. gonna try the paperclip test i reckon. I am thinkin prob airflow meter or lambda sensor maybe.

yeh sits in the inlet manifold. something to do with the choke relative to engine temperature. Gives me problems starting up when the car is warm on my sport atm but should (fingers crossed) help you.

its the plug with the blue end sat in the thermostat housing... its a piece of piss to get to, it'll take a blind quadraplegic guy about 5 minutes to change tops

Yea mine is also exactly the same. Revs higher on idle, EML comes on after about 2 mins of engine running and stays on, jerks at 3000 revs as you let off the accelerator!! I am NOT impressed!!

got a corsa Gsi a few weeks ago. It seems to idle a lot of the time around 1500rpm. sometimes lower, sometimes higher.

Also the power feels a bit jerky, especially at lower revs. flat spots up the rev range.

Have fitted new plugs, leads. changed oil. new cam belt kit. Gonna try an air flow meter on it I think next.

Anyone else experienced similar problems?
