depends how much you can get another engine for, and what spec. I mean you could use the SAME money just sorting this one out/uprate spec

oh and i am sure its not a coscast head. looked in the pipes and no signs of 'mayo'. the pistons rock a little as well so guess this is a sign there a bit worn? might be as well buying another engine?

any "mayo" in the water pipes?
have you got a coscast head? (less likely to go porous)
take the oil cap off, any mayo there?

my nova has always had a little oil in the water tank but since it has been sitting for 2 weeks there seems to be loads of oil in the tank. just before i went away i drove it 130miles and then thrashed it round a track all day and then drove it home so we thought the head gasket had gone but taken it to bits now and the head gasket looks fine. No obvious signs of any damage or anything. Whats wrong??
