No worries oh and if you do replace the temp sender PLEASE be carefull as mine sheared off in two flush in the stat housing !! Maybe give it some WD40 treatment 1st...

Right the way to test it if I remember rightly is to remove the small female spade connector from the sensor - its in the thermostat housing next to the CTS. Touch that spade connector to a clean earth in/around the sensor area and the needle on the dash gauge should shoot up to max temp. If its not moving then its NOT the sensor at fault its the wiring/gauge itself. New sensor is only approx £10-£15 anyhow.

posotive its not working, the needle doesnt move.

Can you please explain where the temp sender is? Is it near the temp sensor???
