Didn't know he had a GSi :|

It's not that the BFO shouldn't be fitted, but that it can't be fitted because the neck is the wrong size!
By all means if you're happy to play with different sizes of silicone tubing, get the XL

Vector will still look good on the GSi because of the silicone hose :)

No filter will affect your engine's performance in terms of power, so you should concentrate on the sound it gives, plus looks, how long the filter can go before it needs cleaning, etc.

I'll make it easy ;) - Call Vaux-Tec / LMF / Demon Tweeks and ask for a PK037XL

So you want something that will flow a lot of air, for a long time.
This rules out cotton-gauze filters, unless your happy to clean them out every 5-8,000 miles. Add another £15-odd for the cleaning kits.

For maximum airflow over a long period of time, go for foam

i've been told to get a RamAir filter caus they sound good and add aproximately, which has been dyno tested, at 8 bhp.
Every manufacturer uses dyno results, exact figures aren't a good way to judge a product as they're tested on different cars, on different days, or in the case of magazine group tests, typically run once or twice on the rollers to get a figure before the filter is changed for the next one on the list.

The RamAir is a foam filter, with an aluminium base so you're onto a winner already.. but really you should be looking to get a Pipercross filter ;)

but there is also K&n, Green, Pipercross, etc.
No, No, Yes, no.

what do i get, would it be worth getting a bigger filter like a vectra V6 filter, will it just look better or actually make the car any better?
The Vectra filter probably won't be any bigger and its unlikely to have the same fitment as the Corsa filter.

For the best airflow and induction note, get the Pipercross XL filter - based on a Cosworth filter!

For the best in styling, get the Viper.

i've recently put a Pipercross Viper on my corsa (SRi 1.4 8v running dbilas throttle bodies) I went from the standard Pipercross Filter to the Viper and it made on hell of a difference so my money goes on the viper :D
