aye thats going into protect mode. Possibly packing a distorted signal into the amp, check ur bass settings on your HU.

Redo your gains and check your ground wire to make sure its clean, good and tight. Also check your sub terminal connections.

If that still fails check for any stray strands of wire.

If that fails, broken amp or coil is on its way out on the sub

as soon as i turn it on the bass stops, and the light on my amp goes from green to red, its been fine for ages and has just started doing it.

its a sony xplod 1000w amp and a 10" mtx audios sub, dont know the power.

if i turn the gain down to its lowest then it dosnt turn off but u cant hear the sub.

is my amp going into protection mode or something?? i have no manuals to check.

if i got a new sub wouldit work with my amp ?? or is amp or sub ******ed???
