Yeah, because a larger rolling radius reduces the factory over-read error.

Paul - factory standard are 185/60/14.

You only get 65 profile on a 14 if its in 165 width, like SRi/1400 Sport.

yes

185/65/14

you can fit 185/60/14 but they will knock the speedo out...

had my speedo properly calibrated at the weekend & its right upto 110mph which they had it going to on the rollers...

LMAO

traction has nothing to do with the size of the wheels. most race corsas use 13, 14 or 15" wheels. (as they are lighter and less rolling radious when used with low profiles, thus giving better acceleration) traction depends on what tire grade, how much tread, and width

Could be any number of things mate.

May be the cars will have different amount of milage, meaning one engine may be in better nick than the other. One might have been raced about for a few years by a boy racer, doesnt do the engine any good in the long run. One will have been serviced more times perhaps, meaning it has minimal wear and is running more efficient.
You might have more fuel in your tank, you as a person may be heavier, you may have a lot of ICE, he may not. Other person my have had an induction kit.

I dunno, just puttin a few thoughts up here. These things may not seem that big but a combination of all of the above will defo make a difference between 2 cars with the same engine size

are u trying to say that the springs made it quicker off the mark....

um no they wont.

dont buy just springs doesnt do the handling anygood at all, buy a kit (about £160+) and the handling will improve.
