Thanks for the help all.

Not looked too closely at wheel angles yet. I'll take it into Vaux on Mon for a quote etc etc

Get back and take a pic of the hole then report it.

My mate put a ruler down the hole and a flat bit accross the hole to show how deep it was.

He then sent the pics and what happened to the council and they paid out for the 2 alloys and 2 tyres it killed.
It took hime 6 months but he did get paid out.

As soon as he reported it they came out and filled the hole withina few days so if you report it them take the pics expect the hole to be filled and no evedince (As has happened to a few poeple on migweb)

edit - update! Just wanted to say, the Council paid up, covered cost of new alloy and tyre :)

Ok so its just a standard but I'm still  ! Incase its not too clear (camera phone), the alloy is completely mullered/dented/buckeled, and the tyre has 2 large splits in it.

It was a big crater in the middle of the road, in the dark.

Am I right in thinking I shouldn't have too many problems getting the council to conpensate?

Also, what other damage is likely to have been done? Shocks?? And if the council were to compensate for new shocks, do you have to replace both sides?

Thanks a lot

Did do a search and read a couple of threads on similar subjects, but hi ho
