My brother and his friend were coming back to our house about 1am Monday morning when the temperature gauge started rising.

He pulled over and checked the water level in the radiator and it was low so he topped it up and continued on his way.

Not long after the same thing happened, so he topped up again and managed to get home when he said to me "My car's acting up" - "it's losing water" and I thought it may have just been a clip that had snapped or a hose that had worked loose.

Dad had a look at it on Tuesday and confirmed the head gasket had gone as water was bubbling out of it.

Does anyone recommend anywhere in the Wirral area where it can be repaired properly but for as little cost as possible (as we're both students) ?

Thanks

Keith
