it's failed and it's being repaired at the mo, i get it back on wednesday.
£42 is alot for an mot, i thought they were only 30 odd, but it has no mot and my luck i would get cought on the way to the mot center with no mot. was on holiday when it ran out so couldn't sort it then.

thanks for the replys. lucky it's not too serious :)

running without mot is stupid. if you crash, your insurance is not valid. if you crashed into me with no mot or insurance, i would be livid. imagine someone writing your car off and you not being able to do a thing. thats why we have laws.

Are you meaning the plastic inner lining of the arch?

Corsa E-Tec

posted on 20th Sep 04 at 13:15

na i didn't put the wheel arch in properly so the tyre burnt a whole in it.
£20 to fix the handbrake
£25 for labour and replace of inner wheel arch fitted properly and not half done by me

if he replaces the front wheel arch, wont the wheel still be fouling it surely, its the wheel at fault not the arch, or have i got the wrong end of the stick, i paid less that £45 for a brand new handbrake cable fitted, take it to ATS or summit, much cheaper

i was thinking of leaving it with them as i cant be arsed, dont wanna drive illegally and will get it done quicker but need to save the £££££'s. never mind thats life. cheers guys.

i'd prob pay it then, but i usually get someone else to fix my car. just can't be arsed normally

just get them to do it saves u fucking about and usually the handbrake bolt rusts and seizes tight so just let them do it

Corsa E-Tec

yer, included in the price 25 for wheel arch and labour and 20 for handbrake.

3CorsaMeal

£45 seems like a lot of money to adjust the handbrake, i never done it myself but am sure its quite simple.

just read the rest , does it include a new wheel arch then?

Corsa E-Tec

it's just failed on fouling on the front wheel arch and hand brake is not tight enough.

just a quick Q he said it's £45 to adjust the handbrake and replace the wheel arch and then £42 for the MOT so £87 all in.

i could do it myself but the mot has ran out and i cant drive it on the road.

what would you do?

does this sound reasonable. cheers guys
