I bought a load of C20XE parts off a guy that converted Mk2 'scorts with the red top for motorsport customers.

He preferred it to the Pinto because of the cost of parts to support the conversion!

By the hassle of converting a cossie to N/A you can buy a bellhousing adapter and modify an XE to fit a mk1.

The engine mountings actually arent too difficult to make as theyre almost in the same location if youve just removed a pinto or 1600x/flow. Just need extending up the way to mate up to the holes in the XE Block.

If converting a non type 49 shell i.e not RS1600, Mexico or RS2000

Youll need a worldcup crossmember at least...also a manta 2.0 CIH RWD Sump and a XE RWD Manifold to suit.. both of which SBD Sell.

yes but if you notice, "most" mk1/mk 2 owners that are running cossie lumps are running n/a with tb.s, becasue of boost cutting it mid corner, which is undesirable on a rwd car

so putting a LET in would only lead you to have exactley the same problem

You get C20XE's in loads of non-vauxhall cars. You also get loads of rear wheel drive C20XE's, it's a very versetile engine. So the LET could be used in the same way, as it's basically the same engine-ish...

Yes, so is this:

Just put a custom bell housing and RWD box on it, not the cheapest thing in the world but certainly possible.

Nice idea, but surely the MkII is a far better car to do the project on? :)

Would a LET fit into an Escort MKI lads?

I've seen a fe c20xe's in these so would of thought so?

Think this would make one mean project..
