I'm sure you can use a 1.2 engine mount on the car as they are the same as the 2.0 engine mounts when you do a conversion, so the mounts should be in the same place. Why don't you just try find a working 1.0 engine? They're more powerful :look:

yeah, will the the chassis leg have the same rubber mount position for the engine side?

the engine mounts have to be differnet cos the 12v engine is tiny

The 12v has the same chassis leg as 16v, not sure if this will affect you on gearbox side.

Don't ask why its happening. Converting a dead 1.0 12 to 1.2 8v

I need to know what parts are different. I'm not sure about the mounts, I expect the gearbox ones to be the same but the engine mounts could be different? What about the fuel lines, is there any difference?

Any pics of 1.0 engine bays?
