ok i get that, so how would ya wire all that up to run two 4ohm subs in parallel on a 2ohm monoblock amp?

If you run two 4 ohm subs in parallel then it will make the amp run at 2 ohms.

how does all these ohms and voice coils work? and what effects wot? cos i thought that to be running a 2ohm amp u need to run a 2ohm sub, but u sed to run the 4ohm version of the subs n i dont gettit?

if u get the single coil 4 ohm version and run 2 together at 2 ohm the amp will be fine.

so the new l7 subs run at 2ohm and 4ohm and have a single voice coil, so will the 2400d run them both good or not? think the amp runs at 2ohm 2. i want abit of both spl and sound quality mostly spl.

the 2400d is "basically" two 1100d's strapped together internally.

Thanks for that m8 i have only had experience of directed 600d and 1100d which are both 1 ohm capable and i assumed the bigger on wud be too.

quote: sorry mate. but the DEI 2400d is only 2ohm stable for everyday use. my team mate competed briefly with them and yes they will run below that but we never really wanted to try it as daily use. i currently run 6 of the Viper 2500d's which are a VERY similar amplifier, just differing with the x-overs. The smaller DEI (1100d) is indeed 1 ohm stable if that is the one that you were meaning. My 2p Gordon P.S. The DEI 2400d is a superb amp and has loads of power !

quote: Of course, but u will have to wire the subs in series or parallel to get the load u need. Good subs and a good amp, the directed's work best at 1 ohm, so really u need subs with 2 x 4 Ohm voice coils and wire to 1 ohm. Will sound good. [Edited on 27-05-2004 by AdiSRI]
