you should be able to see the mfd when eva the ignition is on mate!!! or when theradio is on!!

should disply the date and time and temp and the date will go off when you turn radio on or display the station when sterio is on!!

i have got the same problem with my mfd, it only works when lights come on, ive had three in my time and none of them have worked properly, my second one was on all time! it finally burnt out lol if any one knows how to solve this problem u2u me please! and SOLDERING THE PLUG ON DOESNT WORK!!!!!!!

I have the pinouts for both if you are interested u2u me.

i had to solder my MFD too, ya pull the plug out the back and the bit soldered to the circuite board comes with it lol

no the other one was, but my new one isnt

nah not that cud smell burnin comin from the back of my heaters, and was the mfd that had burnt?

very true could be that, i had to solder the plug on mine a while back

solder the plug back on the circuit board. guarentee thats why your old one stopped working too.

thats not norm mate, not sure why it doing it though, it should be on all the time the igntiion key is on, egradless of radio, and go dull when you tun you lights on, ie to stop u being dazeled by the brightness of the bulbs. Maybe the wiring on the astra unit is slightly different or something, or maybe u just got a dodgy unit

O and yeah u can see it slightly whne you igntion off, just without the back lighting

just noticed that when my ignition is off the mfd stil lights up a bit but wen i turn the ignition on the mfd goes off until the lights are turned on then the mfd lights up agen

no doesnt come on if i switch the stereo on, cud be anything to do wiv that the mfd i got now as come out of an astra?

fought it was just the casin that was different?

right its been that long since i had my mfd workin that now i have got one,
i dunno if its workin right
