When i had 17's on my corsa i just tapped the arches out a bit with a rubber mallet. This gave the wheels some extra clearance. Think they were ET45 wheels. Never scrubbed on a 35mm drop and could even have a full car load with no rubbing. If you dont fancy cutting your arches banging them out with a mallet is another alternative.

you could drop if 40mm ok,

just trim the inside lip of the rear arches with a file and take off the bolts at the top dso and glue it back so the bolts dont hit the wheels and rip them, as for the front remove the 1 bolt at the top, glue on arch, trim some of the inside lip

its an easy enough job to do. cost you a tube of bonding agent.
tigerseal or sikaflex is your best bet.

alrite kirsty... try lowering it 40mm on a full kit if it rubs do the necessary arch work (skimming the plastic archs/debolting etc) if that doesnt work go more drastic.. angle grinder etc if that doesnt sell the rims!!

ur from NI arnt u?

im on 17's et40 lowered about 40 mm, i get scrubbing, but it can be easily sorted,

remove the arches, cut off teh clips etc, angle grind off the arch lip, touch it up to stop it rusting, bond the arches back on, jobs a good un.

however i feel you would not get away with a 60mm drop

Me thinks that removing the bolts from the rear arch and bonding them back on will help but they will still rub on full lock and with people in the back. Id stick with what you have on there, looks schweeet :)

Hello all, my name's Kirsty and I need some help please!

My dad got me a set of 17" FOX 4 evo for my corsa B, but they are ET42, I know the right ET for a dropped corsa should be ET49 (eg Speedlines!)

Do u think that if my car gets dropped on these ET42 17's that it will be a mess? Say if it was lowered 40mm or 60mm should it be ok with just some trimming of the arch clips etc or will it just rub and be a nightmare?
