If running comps of the headunit, how do you go about wiring in the alpine crossover. Is it just as good using the standard corsa wires for the door speakers and tweeters?

any ice shop that sells the alpine headunits should be able to order you in a remote m8.

So you have to wire the coils on each sub in series and connect both subs to the amp in parallel.

Are your type R's ( if they are 12") the 1221D's or the 1241's (or if they are 10") the 1021D or the 1041D?

The front and rear outputs are low level outputs. Combining them is a stupid idea and will have no benefit to your system at all.

On the back of the headunit there is one wire that goes to the amp for the sub, then two outputs - one for rear speakers, one for front speakers. If i connect the components to the front outputs, will it be using all the available power or do i need to combine the front and rear outputs to get the most power?

They are a bit tinny, make sure the subs are run @ 2 ohm and you should be ok. Set your high centre frequency at at 12.5 and keep it low to reduce some of it.
