When i ran my car without the ICV (to see if it was my problem) that is exactly that it would do.... revs would die if left.

Ok, got into car to get home, started it up, and it stalled on me, started it again and kept foot on throttle for a bit but as soon as id let go the revs would drop well under a grand and would just stall again.

Drove it home, keeping revs over 1000 at junctions, and now its home it idles just under 1000, but is a wirring noise from engine, could it be my alternator? as it has snapped before and needed a new bracket bush and bolt put on but never got round to it, as it's a cambelt off job :boggle:

Could that be why? Also when i start it up after ages, it stinks kind of like petrol :boggle:

any help much appreciated cheers
