i dont do mine very technically.
i undo the lower mounting bolt use a bar to lever the alternator as far as i can and tighten the bolt up :thumbs:
works fine but aint half dodgy :lol:

I dont think the 16v engines have a tensioner, so you need to fit another. I think you need to take off the crankshaft pully, but can be done by stretching it over the pullies while turning engine over by hand (from crankshaft), how I did mine recently :)

sup guys, me alternator belt is cracked an sqeaking real bad, can someone give me a guide on how to fit and re-tension new belt??
haynes manual is shite it sez mines a V' groove but my belt is ribbed????
