oh right, all i can suggest is checking through the manual then

even if i don't get sound from my head unit the in built speaker should give sound.

It's not the case of making a noise it's a case of not picking up the signals for the program. For example if the ITV news is on i can see the presenter but i cannot hear them, all i hear is a hissing noise. It's like the channel is not tuned in or the sound signal is not tuned in?

on that one its does say:

Audio output:150 mW(Max)

just check your head unit spec, it should accept this, but it narrows it down for you

do you know the voltage level at which your headunits aux inputs operate? Its possible that your tv is not supplying enough power.

i know it sounds dumb, but also try looking through the troubleshooting section of the manual, some products have really wierd options that you might need to select to use it in this country

also, on that website i posted up, it said it can be used anywhere in the world, but performs best in north america, and outside of north america, may not perform properly, or summin like that

the tv is connected to aux on my stereo. i'm getting sound for the ps2 (which is also connected) but not for the tv (it has a built in tuner).

There is a in built speaker but all it does is hiss. i can see the programs but just get a hissing noise for the sound.

if you have that remote try pressing the sys button a few times.

And as CDcool suggested, do you know if it has a speaker and volume control.

If you still cant get any sound, try plugging the rca audio plugs into an aux in on any of your stereo equipment.

Which means its set to M/NTSC, not compatable with broadcasts in europe mate.

Mo

all it says it that sound is set to 'm'. i've just been to the tv repair shop and they told me it should be on 'i' not 'm' and there is no way of changing it. :(

There is usualyl 4 system modes. Look for a button on the remote or something.

Well before i read the bit about

"This tv is suppose to work everywhere in europe."

I was gonna say its to do with European standard setting of tuning to 0.5 MHz
Whereas the rest of the world tune to 1.0MHz.

Now im not sure if this applies to TV but def. Radio
