you should be able to use either type of flywheel, as long as you use the right clutch. The flat type is lighter.

lol, oh yeah, the 1.2 wont have the torque to pull it thru the gears! for some reason i had it in my head that they were trying to say a 1.2 would somehow manage to hit the limiter in all gears where as the gsi wouldnt, ill go get my coat lol! dumb smuck!

cost i would think a GSI rev's alot higher than a 1.2?

if its the cr box how come itll top out at 60mph, why dont the gsi top out at 60mph then?

Greasemonkey

fair enough, better tell him he carnt have it, aint one to sell some one a bit of kit that dont work and makes ya car top out at 60mph lol

the haynes manual goes into more detail.

yeah but surely the input shaft will just fit the same as any other gearbox, i carnt see ya needing the fly as well, i mean i got them so its not a great issue

plus the clutch for the f15 is a hell of a lot bigger. to be able to fit the f15 to a 1.2 8v then everything is needed, and even then it will be crap on a 1.2 8v, it will top out at about 60 mph.

Kris TD

no, it will need the f15 flywheel and clutch. the f10 stuff wont fit it. look in the haynes manual

Greasemonkey

but if he is using his standard flywheel and clutch and just bolting on the gearbox is will be fine wont it!!!

Kris TD

f15 uses a pot type flywheel. 1.2 uses a standard type flywheel

Greasemonkey

i got a GSI the gearbox aint for my car, a buyer wants to know this, i will tell him then that it fits fine

F15 and F10, are both from the same family for the "small" block series, so it will fit.

But please remember, if the F15 is off a GSi, it will be a CR box, and will slow the 1.2 8v down big time. The 1.2 is ideally suited to the WR boxes that require less power/torque.

i think it will but maybe ask beardy or lee mitchel as they do this stuff all the time

Greasemonkey

hhhmm so will it fit or not lol, i am99% sure it will, its close ratio box if that makes a difference
cheers

Siberia

i dont know but i was looking a a picture of an f20 box the other day and it didnt look any different to the f10 i fitted to my 1.2 8v

i'm sure the input shaft would be different on a f20 to a f10

and probably a f15 to a f10 but as long as u get the clutch there should be no probs

Ditch

it didnt come standard on any 1.2 corsa though so not too sure if the gearing will be correct will it?

Greasemonkey

posted on 17th Feb 04 at 11:05

i got drive shafts, clutch fly wheel (lightened and balanced), no release bearing but he should replace this any way i would have thought so i can tell him it will fit 100%
cheers

Siberia

well really ure just selling a gearbox so u only need to give him the gearbox

but if yer a good seller then clutch flywheel the realise bearing and if u dont need then the driveshafts:)

Adam-D

I got an F15 Gearbox for sale, it will be a straight swap onto a 1.2 4 speed corsa wont it, what do i need to give the buyer, just the gearbox, or does he need the flywheel clutch etc
