i put two lengths of timber across the shelf to stop it sagging under the weight of my 7x10's:lol: | |

yer its easy, i made a stelf shelf, a i found that it made the sound of the 6x9s worse. maybe it was the material, put them back in the standard shelf and it sound better, probably make one again when i get a sub, do u guys find that the shelf sags in the middle? cheers | |

yep improves sound quality as less vibration, and as the legend says, less vibration from subs too. | |

Would most likely stop some vibration with subs in the boot too!!! | |

yeah agreed its easy and as greengoddess says it improves ya 6x9's due to less flex | |

as above m8 , use your old shelf as a template then cut out of mdf, and keep trial fitting, sanding, trial fitting till it fits ok.The hardest bit is making the side bits that fit over the bit that sticks out to hinge the shelf on.I made mine out of mdf then covered with cloth, the sound u get is well worth the effort with 6x9's in it.:thumbs: | |
