Usually a problem if its been disturbed. If for example someones fitted a new pollen filter and not quite got everything fitted back together properly.

We just love smooth scuttles, don't we?

Mine smells, but then thats cos water runs into my pollen filter at the mo, then down through the heater matrix onto my feet  But thats not the scuttles fault.

very common on corsas

Since when? IM the only person i've heard with the problem.

And why do i have that problem :(

The black plastic panel underneath the scuttle has all cracked so the water doesn't run down the channels into the wings, it runs along the channels into the cracks and breaks and down through the matrix.

Bodyshops fault

Did that on my Chevette too. Slowly rots the floor from the inside, until one day you have pedal power..flintstone stylee

Actually the holes a to allow air to flow into the pollen filter. Blocking that off slows the airflow in.

Take your scuttle off and take a look, it serves no purpose other than to drain water. Mines been blocked for 18 months, no smells, ventilation probs or anything.

Icy means the hole for the wiper arm.
The actual grill holes make no difference to the airflow to the interior at all.
