it would lose power sometimes yes, it hasnt stalled at a junction as of yet, but sometimes the revs goto as low as 300rpm then back upto 800ish

My dad had exactly this on his astra GSi turbo, and after lots of trips to vaux it was a crank shaft sensor or somesuch!

The car wud start perfectly when cold, but when hot wud turn forever and nothing!

I had this problem with mine too - it turned out to be idle control valve. had it replaced but costly...

once i have been out for a long journey it just keeps turning over and then will not start! if i leave it for 30mins once it has had a chance to cool down then it will start, i know engines still heat up after they have been turned off, this may be why, shouldnt be though, maybe its due to ICV?

1.2 16v

I took it to the garage and they plugged it into their diagnostics (not vaux), they changed the crank timing sensor and the air idle control valve, its all okay as of yet.

oh yeah it cost me £250 :(
