I didn't mean timing belt, I meant alternator belt. Although in saying that, i dont think i have a genuine cam belt, I got it from autovaux.

wouldnt buy a timing belt of anybody other than an OE belt, at least then if it snaps within the acclaimed mileage you have some comeback

If I just nipped down to Vaux right now, I assume they'd have one in stock? And they won't rip me off for one will they?

Cheers for the response. I was wondering bcoz I get a squealing noise from one of the belts when I start the car, tho it goes away once the engine is warmed up, just wondering which belt it would be...

Cam belt 'powers' the water pump.

Yeah they're right next to each other. Your timing belt will be behind a cover tho, probably, whereas you will be able to see your alternator belt if you look under the bonnet. Alternator belt also powers your air con, power steering and water pump.
