You will find that most rollers are inaccurate. The idea of accurate rollers is hard to see as loads of different rollers give different results, depending on various conditions. I know someone that had there Astra Gsi rollers twice in 2 months on different rr's with no engine changes and there was a difference of 14bhp, thats on a pretty much standard engine.

yes nassua ur right i was at peugeot ecosse rolling road day an all 106 gti's were putting out 128bhp an thats standard book says 120 bhp i think it is so the manufacturers can cover there backsides if ur car under performs then big trouble for vauxhall/peugeot etc etc an other brands

this link has a good wee write up on the different rating standards for power, it's references are for american motors but theory still the same....

think along the lines of trade descriptions, if they say the engine is 110 and you get it tested at 90 then they either have to rerate the car, not good pr, or spend time/money to bring it up. however if it 'appears' to over perform then we're happy customers !

Do other manufacturers give out 'minimum' figures too?

I've never heard that they are minimum. They will be true.

aye, i was a bit taken aback, like i said it was running crap as well. only thing is the figures quoted by vauxhall are supposed to be 'minimum' figures i believe, whether or not they are really 8 or so horses less who knows.... i'll get the graph scanned and post if anyone is interested.
