X16XEV was never a Corsa engine. Just an Astra mk3 engine, with longer inlet tract to reduce power to 100BHP

There is no such engine called X16XEV. You are getting confused with the X20XEV which is the 2.0 16v Ecotec engine used in the Cavalier, Calibra, Omega, and Vectra.

The 1.6 16v engine used in the Corsa is either C16XE or X16XE, the one in the mk3 Astra is X16XEL (L = low output).

Sorry Sam, ur wrong with this one. XEV engine was reduced to 100bhp but with increased torque at a lower rpm. I know, Steve106 sold me an X16XEV. It was sh1te, i sold it on.

OK I just checked, yes it would appear that there is an X16XEV, which is fitted to the mk4 Astra, but the X16XEL was fitted to the mk3.

But regardless of that fact, I suspect that wainey is referring to the X16XE engine, as he talks of a 'GSi' which I assume to be a Corsa GSi.

No, i did make a profit Weather you want to believe me or not is up to you, nae arsed.

Its true, i didn't realise what engine it was. Stephen told me it was an X16XE, so he lied/didn't know. AS soon as i arrived i noticed the engine was different (not hard to tell by the inlet manifold). I got it home, checked it out, enquired as to how much extra work it was to put in, found out more aobut the engine, and decided i didn't want to keep it.

And im glad i didn't now, 2.0 is much more fun

No Damien, the XE16XEL is a fcuking wicked engine and would be much better than your shitty C20XE.

X16XEL, Oliver, not XE16XEL.

PS. I would not have any of the aforementioned engines, I would rather have a C36GET...

Well its a good job i haven't got a C20XE then isn't it.

I have a 20XE with Coscast head (bigger inlet ports etc, designed and made by cosworth). 155bhp as standard.
