I got a quote on last saturday. Adrain Flux

Corsa valued at 8K C20LET running 335bhp, I'm 20 and have been driving on trade policy since i passed 2 1/2 yrs ago. Fully comp. me as the ONLY driver at ME9 postcode was £2400. Thats all mods declared, i feel thats not a bad price tbh, considering i have no no claims.

if its in your grans name then she is the main driver

if she hasnt got a FULL licence then some1 else has to be on the policy as a nmaed driver

this confuses me, if ur the main driver, why put ur gran on as a second driver, surely this would bump up the price for having a second driver?

320 is very achiveable from the C20LET with the wallace phase 3.5 kit and a few mods like aquamist or a chargecooler,

a bit front mounted intercooler would be needed as well, at this sort of bhp you would need uprated fuel pump, uprated rod bolts, and need to lower the compression as well to run it safly, will be relaible if all of these are done,
Hybrid turbo will be a good mod too, a massive bore exhast also,

running this sort of power you will need an uprated clutch as well,

can you see where this is going,

the list goes on and on and there is a fair few quids worth there already,

it is acheivble but i cant see it for £3500,
if they say they are gonna do it it is a bargin too,

is that with a 6 speed box???

yer no ones saying that 320bhp, or even 400bhp when their phase 5 kit comes out isent possible, were saying that for a standard c20let conversion, from cossvaux, will come with the standard bhp of 204, unless u pay them extra to uprate it, in that case it wont cost £3500 it would be alot more

hey guys well i guess i need my hearing checking, heres what they said to me yesterday
just a 2.0 turbo dropped in is £3500...this is no extras just a standard engine swap

with all the additional extras to make it a mega conversion it will cost £5500....but this includes lots of some really good kit (i will list it when i find the piece of paper its all written on)

for a really good 2.0 16v conversion with loads of these goods parts on and a face-lift kit etc that costs £3500 so me and my cousin (gavino bambino) are now going to go for that and have one each

so it was me all along that got mixed but now for the next question how much am i looking at for insurance on a 2.0 16v

cheers folks

My insurance for the 2.0 16v corsa is £1100 a year third party through Adrian Flux with all mods declared, I'm 20 with 1 years NCB. I didn't think that was too bad as i was paying £900 to insure it as a 1.2 through CIS.

yeah your right they are 204 bhp and they then do a 324 bhp kit and the a 400 bhp kit
.....heard that people have trouble getting power down on 2.0 turbos especially when they boost it up

....also spoke to someone lastnight from john noble motorsport and they said that 2.0 16v conversions and 2.0 turbo conversions have trouble with handeling due to heavy front end and just want to go in a straight line when you go round a corner

why pay £3500 for an engine conversion, just look in your local free ads, there are plenty of 2.0 litre corsas advertised for a price less than a conversion!!
