1. a "carriageway is 60mph", a "dual carriageway" is 70mph. you can work out whats a dual and whats a single

duel carridge way that I drove to work on is 60 cause it has a 60mph sign on it. the second part of the road with a central reserve has a nation speed limit sign which is 70mph.

my questions

whats the legalities of displaying coloured flashing and none flashing lights from the front and rear of the vehical either in motion, parked up, or on private land

2.

can you be done for being sat in a car whilst over the limit WITHOUT driving the car (IIRC so long as the keys are in the ignition its classed as drink driving) but i know a person who was done sitting in the rear of their car getting their jacket to walk home for being in possetion of a vehical whilst over the limit

Theres something called showing light to front with carries a fine and can sometime give you points, depending on once again the officer, the situ, your attitude etc and where it is,moving or not.

Your private land will be different private land to me as I know what counts as private land from within the law and what is a public road, a carpark for a superstore will be public, anywhere basicly that public have access to wether by payment or not, so even an ncp carpark is public road if its got a barrier up saying payment first.

2.
If you have the keys on your person, or within a distance that you have access to them then you will be classed as being in charge of the vehicle,dont have to be in ignition only.

if they have reason to suspect that you have stolen or prohibited articles on your person (includes car) then yes they can. They can breathalise you if they suspect that you have committed a moving traffic offence.

we leave truckers alone, they generaly help us by calling us up on their radios if they see cars at high speeds

1. you can get done by a police officer on his/her own, they just cant transport you on their own if you get arrested for health and safety reasons and because of accusations from the arrested.

2.No you cant, but chances of seeing a police car driving down the road well under the speed limit is pretty slim

whats the laws on them searching the car? say u been stopped randomly.

i've had them look round the inside of car b4 but they won't touch/move anything, could only peak

English Law is so dodgie, I mean how credible is it for 1 officer to arrest someone without coroboration, Scots law is much more sound.
