The following post is an account of my experiences with the Vauxhall parts and accessories specialist PVD.
I am writing a factual account of my experiences, I will not mention my opinions at all here.
I am writing this so the fellow car enthusiasts may read it and form their own opinions and decide for themselves whether they want to trade with PVD.
Posting replies to this topic will keep it near the top of the forum, allowing more fellow car enthusiasts to read it, but if you do post a reply, please don't post anything that may get this thread closed or deleted.
The contents of this thread are not necessarily the views of the forum owners, administrators or other users.

My first dealings with PVD came about nearly a year ago when I wanted to order alloy wheels for my Calibra.
I saw a set of wheels that I liked in the PVD catalogue. I was happy with the price (approx £700 plus delivery)
I called PVD. After several attempts where the phone wasn't answered I finally got though to someone. I had all the details to hand i.e. wheel type, size etc and I had my credit card to hand. All that had to be done was to process the order.
The person I spoke to listened to me for a short while before interrupting and telling me he was really busy just then, but would call me back to complete my order. He took my number and we hung up.
He never called back.
I ordered the same wheels from a different company and they arrived within 2 days.

My next dealing with PVD was for a corsa engine conversion kit, to fit a C20XE engine into a corsa.
No one else I know of makes such a comprehensive fitting kit, so I decided to order it.
I checked an old catalogue I had at home and saw the kit was priced at £540.
I checked the website for an up to date price and saw it was still £540.
I called PVD on 19th May. I asked a few questions about the kit, and was given the answers I wanted. I placed the order. I asked whether PVD offered discount to MIG members and was told that they do.
I was then told the price of the kit had increased to £575. This increase had seemingly happened quite recently and they hadn't updated the website yet. I accepted this and continued with the order. The new price, minus discount, plus delivery came to £556. I was then told the kits were not in stock, but would be within 2 weeks, and they would forward the kit on to me as soon as they could.
I asked if they would charge my credit card when they dispatched the kit to me. I was told they couldn't do this, but would have to charge me for it then. I grudgingly accepted this.

2 weeks passed and the kit hadn't arrived and I hadn't been contacted by PVD.
I also noticed that the prices on the website still hadn't been updated to reflect the price increase.

By the 6th June (nearly 3 weeks after placing the order) I commented about this on a thread on migweb which was about an unrelated subject. Others replied and a small discussion about PVD ensued. Here is a link to the thread...
http://www.migweb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=82141
Board user “pete” who is a member of the PVD team replied on the thread, saying the kits should be in stock within a further week, and sent me an e-mail. In this e-mail he apologised for the delay and said that they were busy and hadn't had time to update the website. He said he would contact me as soon as he had a definite delivery date for the kit.

By Friday 13th of June, I still had not been contacted by PVD. I phoned them and was told that the kits should be here on Tuesday. I stated that I was not willing to wait any longer, and asked for the order to be cancelled and my money refunded. The person I spoke to said he would have to confirm this with Pete and I would be called back as soon as possible.
He called back a short time later and explained that yes the kits should be here on Tuesday. I explained that this was too late and asked for my money to be refunded, which he agreed to.

I notice that today (13th June) Their website still advertises the kits at the lower price.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.
David.

this is true small companys are very hard to contact compared to large organisations .you will find that every person in the company does 2 or 3 jobs that ina larger company would have 1 person for each one .

ive spent around 4 grand with pvd. delivery is neva usually a problem only with the 2 litre shafts and hubs i order. but as said these are imported. so u chase pvd and pvd chase m-ech. m-tech say they will be sent out. pvd tell u they should be in on such and such date. if they dont turn up people get arsey with pvd. not there fault thou. its the suppliers. same as people complain abou they dont always reply to e.mails. best thing to do is ring them. takes just as long and u get an answer there and then. as for not getting a phonecall back. pvd are a busy company phone numbers and that can get lost. if people are that bothered get in touch with the company. i could understand if your getting ripped off lots of money. (ie. bad bodyshop work, engine conversion etc) delivery aint always the companys fault. u will find most companys have problems with deliverys now and again. look at all the complaints for deliverys from a certain bodykits (ie: psg combat kits)

We have a full time web designer on board now, so the site is being updated as we speak. There's a lot to be updated, so this will take time. Unfortunately it is the nature of this business that prices change, both up and down.

As for the delay on the engine conversion kits, we do import them from Holland. There were delays on the last shipment due to certain parts being out of stock. The shipment has left and is due into the UK on Tuesday. I appreciate that this is too late for you, and we're happy to cancel.

I appreciate that there was a delay, and I apologise for this, but this was due to problems out of our control.

Cossvaux don't stock M Tech products.

J100 - you obviously missed my explanation above. The delay was due to our supply. This kit took 3 weeks, not 3 months.
