use check_mk, graylog2, netdisco, RANCID to manage everything.

Not scared just not easy to push in pure wintel environments. MSSQL on Linux is going to be interesting.

its more about budget for us tbh, all the systems listed above are used to monitor various platforms, cisco, juniper, esxi, bare metal, windows, linux etc. But as we always say at work.. its free as in software not free as in time
