Yes mate, definitely. There's loads of guides online of how to measure, cut etc. I'm honestly hopeless at diy and I managed to do 2 bedrooms and the hallway fine.

I like to have my joints inline with eachother, so you get a bit more wastage. But it looks better in my opinion.

You can see here:

Almost finished the hallway, just have 2 more pieces to cut, which hopefully will be sorted tomorrow. Had to pull it all back up as it was squeaking by the doorway. Had to cut a small bit off as it was fouling the doorframe.

Is there a way of laying this flooring without the bead around the edge

Yes, remove skirting, fit flooring with 10mm gap to the wall and then re-fit the skirting, which will give the illusion of flush flooring.

Obviously that's an absolute ballache of a job, so the Scotia trim is the easiest way to sort it.

Had to pull up.and re-fit some flooring in the 2nd bedroom as one of my cats decided to piss on the floor

Cost me another £40 for some underlay as I threw it out when I thought I had finished. Luckily I had a pack of boards left over, so was able to use them.

Bloody animals
