Ask them to replace the car instead, if they can't offer a fix in a reasonable time, see what they say!

Stick a Hyabusa engine in it!

Rotten luck though, is it a common issue?

I've got to take it up with BMW rather than where it is. Going to try for something.

Yea rod bearings are common in America. Not many people use them as general cars

It happens on any. but its generally higher mileage and ones that have been abused from cold. i dont know how the previous owners treated it.

Drove passed me the other day whilst I was walking the dog. Sounded really nice in person. Sorry to hear about the spun shell, hope it gets sorted.

Should have bought a brand new one, you wouldn't have this issue.

Looked into it but I'd rather spunk 50k into my mortgage. Not everyone wants to buy boggo spec Octavia estates.

The v8's suffer from spun shells too.

Plus I'd I've bought an m4 instead.

Yeah but doesnt Vrturbo have a post history of being a absolute cunt to Andrew?

I say let the lad continue to mug him off, enjoy it while it lasts

Vrs turbo also said he earns multiple thousands of pounds a week in wages so 24k is probably not a lot of money to him. Fair play for being successful, I guess Andrew, just isn't.

I wonder if the lump is inherently week or just too highly strung? My bro-in-laws 63 plate M5 just had a new engine under warranty because of a cracked block.
