Had this for a few months now and thought I should get round to putting a thread up. Basically I have no real plans to modify it drastically, just a few minor tweeks and keeping it clean etc.

Anyway it's a 2011 Astra H VXR, totally standard and so far as I am aware no options from factory.

It's the Arctic edition so has a few things over a standard one...

* First off is the obvious paint, it's white which only the Nurburgring ones came in.
* Then there is the black grille, wheels, mirrors and roof.
* Tinted rear windows.
* Full heated leather Recaro's with knee support & lumbar.
* Being a facelift one as well it has Keyless entry/start.

Absolutely love this car. It's cliché but it's a bit of an animal, yes it's flawed but it has such character. Decently built for a Vauxhall and comfy etc.

Plans are fluid change in gearbox, remap and possibly a pre cat decat pipe. Going to retrofit cruise control and possibly upgrade to the sat nav screen and stereo.

Anyway couple of pictures.

I haven't really done anything too it, been serviced, driven it, cleaned it a few times and put my private plate on it. Oh and I got new side repeaters as the old ones where disgusting...

Replaced:

Couple of shitty iPhone pics:

Little snap of the interior which needs a damn good APC clean!

Thanks for looking etc

Nice example

Wouldn't waste your time with the satnav screen, Get a decent android unit, does the job much better, and looks loads better.

That Eonon things looks a bit naff. Decent effort but the OS looks too aftermarket and I would rather the OEM look, although they are really pricey!!

Thanks all, I'm pleased with it. Only negative so far is the attention it attracts from the usual idiots and it's not as refined as I would like. But it's cheap to run so not gunna complain too much.

lol Gav, I know what you mean.

When it has had a proper clean the calipers need cleaning as then you might be able to see the wheels as they are bright blue

Thanks all, I will get some proper photos when its clean in next few weeks

Car never came with cruise control so I thought I would get it set up.

This turned up:

Standard one:

Removed compared to new one!

Fitted in about 3 seconds

Then whipped out Opcom

And all working!

Mad to think you'd give Vauxhall a few hundred quid for that job.

I know right? It took about 10 minutes all in, GHD majority of that was watching a small video to know which control units to switch cruise to present in. Now I've done it I could do it in 2 minutes!

Stalk was £35 as well

Stunning looking motor. Look class in white. Is the arctic any quicker than a standard VXR?

Chris, not too up on Zafira's but I would imagine it is similar yeah

Anth - thanks. It's just a standard VXR painted a ltd colour with heated leather and extra black bits. It's essentially a run out special

Would work on Zafira yes. Sometimes you need a clutch and/or brake switch too, but they are cheap enough, can get the stalk and switch on eBay.

Lovely car, shame no xenons.

Indeed Andy would love them but the cost is insane.

Looking at remapping ATM, then gunna sort out cd70 + screen or go aftermarket and get a CarPlay unit!

Yeah they are silly money, but look miles better.

Id go for an aftermarket over the CD70. Bit old and dated now.

Agree its old and dated, but I am wanting to keep this as original as possible really, the screen and the nav is far far more modern than the giant gay MFD in the middle

Xenons I have seen you can do the bixenon option as opposed to AFL's, which is slightly cheaper. But the issue is the sheet number of bits you need from Vx.

Last estimate was around £700....

The beam from the standard headlights is terrible, I changed mine to a set of projector headlights with Angel eye (urgh, yeah I know) sidelights and found the beam to be much better. Fired in some 4300k HIDs and it was great.
Lin term plan was to unplug the angel eyes and fit an led sidelight bulb in to the high beam reflector some how but got rid of it before I ever got round to it.

Need to check the shed actually, can't remember which headlights it went away with.

Mine aren't too bad, I used to drive a Calibra!

It is something I would very much like to do, but if I did it I would have it 100% factory (maybe minus the washers to keep costs down)so would need levelling sensors, new lamps, hella ballasts/ignitors, levelling sensor etc proper brand D2S bulbs (that said TRS do own brand ones that are apparently excellent!)

The level sensor, bracket plug and loom is over £100 alone
