Do you ever go through a phase and buy stuff you're recently into then realise you may have gone a bit mad?

Being in a band for the past 15 years and into all things sound and light I've recently got into used stage lighting as it's coming up quite cheap at the minute. So I got up to 4 'scanners' and a Chauvet Swarm (google it as it's easier than trying to explain). Then I saw a local bargain on eBay, 4 more lights, so I bought them and picked them up today. They came in a fucking huge hard case and I've not got the room in my house realistically for it I've gone impulse buy mental in the past few weeks and there's still more stuff on my wish list :/

I'm sure everyone goes through these phases......don't they?

Maybe it's an early midlife crisis

Same here. Cant do anything without going the whole hog. Got 2 grands worth of shotguns sat in the cabinet. Not used them, for nearly a year. Couldnt just go out and buy a cheap one

Done about 10k on bikes/gear since last may.

God knows what'll be next. Mrs has even given up on my whimsical buying sprees now

The only time I really misbehave on spending is when it comes to the car(s) tbh. I only buy enough clothes to see me through, I'm notorious for looking like a tramp and I'm quite well behaved on gadgets and stuff at home. Not sure what else there is to buy tbh

With the car, I can't ever just replace/update the part I'm targetting - I normally end up swapping the parts that connect to it, then what connect to that, etc. If something is coming apart, I "might aswell" refresh everything related, etc. End up wasting a lot of time and money, it is fun though.

I know people (a person) who can't just try a hobby out, they've got to go buy all the gubbins (and then spare sets of gubbins) for something they probably only do once or twice. What's worse, they seem to be scared of eBay so it never gets sold on again to mitigate the damage

Also guilty of looking scruffy. The most expensive pants I own are my work pants

Tools for work is another thing I get carried away on.

I should also mention that I just can't save money, doesn't matter how much I earn - it just fucking evaporates.

Just shows how draining cars are...

Nathys just done this http://c20xe.co.uk/board/viewthread.php?tid=670646

For me it's just random car stuff and tools. Bought a battery charger this weekend as my MR2 battery was flat but only a month or 2 old.

Tucked away now next to some obscure socket sets, a paddock stand, gunson easy bleed etc etc......

I seem to have got a lot more sensible the last few months, buying far less stuff I don't need and if I do want something I have been having a clear out at home so I try and offload old stuff first then just use Paypal funds.

Don't be ridiculous, the reason for selling will be something far more sensible such as the ceiling being the wrong height or not being happy with the odd number of bricks.

Since when has a super nintendo been classed as a 'computer'?

Definitely car parts that aren't needed. I swore I wasn't going to buy anymore and just maintain it till I saved up for a new car and have somehow bought spacers, gear/handbrake gaitors, and picking up a new set of wheels and spare trim Friday

Did sell the Gaz coilovers I bought off here though so it's not all bad
