one of the first jobs I said we needed to do was seal and paint the garage floor before anything gets put in it.

Of course that didnt happen, so 6 months later, garage full of shit decided to do it before any more stuff got in there.

Also got a load of metal shelving so needed to do it before I put that in.

After clearing all the stuff out I finally had an empty garage again

Bare concrete incredibly dusty though, so mixed in a 4-1 mix of water and pva and laid a first coat, then did a final pva coat of 50/50 mix

Worked well and sealed it all in and floor was not dusty at all after this, in fact I could have probably just left it at that, but wanted to paint it.

Used leyland trade heavy duty stuff

Not sure wether to bother going a couple of bricks up the wall too..

Definitely go up the walls and get some white on them also.

Here's mine:

The white walls makes it much brighter inside.

Might not do the white actually. The bricks are weird like corrugated shape and also the walls go right up into the roof beam area as it's an A frame roof.

Think I'll just do the couple of bricks round the bottom.

Mines A frame aswell. I just boarded out the eaves so I can use it for storage. I used normal white wall paint. The cheap stuff where you get 25 litres for about a tenner or so. Done the job.

Doesn't take long. Just use a brush with a big head to get into the gaps.

Considered that too but builders warned not to board the eaves as they weren't designed for load bearing.

They said best way is to use joist hanger and put my own joists in

The builders probably didn't want you to drill holes everywhere but you did anyway.

There will prob be a safety factor of 2x the load on the roof so jsut dont load it like a cunt and your be fine

Board on top and screw every 150mm, could remove that diagonal brace as well then, you could even glue the board as well to make it extra strong

Boards on top, as 3CM says. Bit of cutting required obviously, together them through the gaps between joists.

One wall done, this took 7.5 litres of paint! Fucking breeze block is a nightmare to paint

Need to tidy up the top and redo the floor paint edging

Sprayer will go everywhere. Not worth it. Just get a fuck off roller on a decent handle, then a fuck off brush to get in the crevices. Be done in a couple of days.

Problem is the other 3 walls are made with this weird bricks that are ridged

What you see here is after a roller, a brush will get between some of the larger ridges but the tighter ones not.

will have another go with the brush later and really load it up see what happens
