Sup guys. Thought I'd make a project thread for mine and my brothers Corsa GSi. We both had Corsa B's a few years back which are both now in the scrapyard in the sky. You'll probably remember Dans, but mine wasn't around for that long as I quickly upgraded to a C.

Here's a pic of our past and current cars.

My first Corsa B SXi

My second Corsa C Sxi

My third Corsa VXR

My current Astra VXR

My bro's first Corsa SXi

My bro's current Astra VXR

After my Astra VXR breaking, Johnny86 noticed that I didn't have a run around car, so he very kindly lent the GSi for a few weeks to run around in. (For anyone wondering it's the one Ginny was selling on here) After a quick run up to Manchester and back to pick her up I noticed a few problems... First of all the breaks were shot, worked, but very spongy, also it seemed to be overheating as I found out in traffic on the way back from manchester lol. Oh and also, the front tyres were proper ditch finders. (Didn't take long before I offered Johnny a price for it, which he accepted )

After getting the car home, Johnny quickly found me a new set of GSi wheels as the ones that were on the car weren't the best tbh... so old ones off, new(er) ones on. Me and Dan had a little play with the fan switch, cleaned up the connections etc which fixed the overheating issue. (Fan wasn't turning on) Also bought some 2l brakes off Johnny to replace the ones that are on it atm. I'm currently waiting for our softstars to be delivered as the 2l brakes don't fit under the 13's.

Bonnet was a bit manky, so again Johnny sourced me another one of those, so no longer have one with rust on it, it's no where near mint (as it was made out to be by a member on here) but it's much better than the one I had on. Car has been treated to some 60mm lowering springs, tigra scuttle, new boot badge, full outside and inside clean, engine bay clean, new drivers seat, fresh plates (still had the factory ones on) and a full machine polish. Near enough all the GSi kit is marked, so debating wether to have it sprayed or replaced.

First thing we did was check for rust, so we pulled off the arches and bumpers and were very surprised to hardly find any. There is a small scab of surface rust behind the rear bumper, but nothing a wire wheel can't sort. Checked underneath and everything seems solid aswell. Car is also running an original C16XE engine with only 90k on the clock.

We're hoping to bring it along to Billing this year. Anyway, heres some pics.

Main thing is no rust, everything else is an easy fix!

Hopefully get a few GSi's at Billing

Nah, mines the same, loads of bad bits, just wax it as much as possible to try and shine away the imperfections

Respray and wheel refurb and mine will be mint, not rushing in to it though, more enjoyable as a project for me

Looks good, just check up under the front turrets for rust, also 2.0 brakes should fit under the GSi wheels.

Couldn't do mine as a daily, did it for a week and was pretty damn happy to get back in my TT

Mine is lowered with a loud ish system and I'm nearly 33 so it's a bit different for me I guess
