Went to a VXR Power Events Pre-Release preview day locally today - at the Haynes Motor Museum (only 15 mins away, would have been rude not to - especially as attending with VXR also got me free Museum Entry and free Lunch... )

Vauxhall and the VXR Brand team are hosting 3 preview days for it, this was the first - it's being trailered up to Glasgow tonight for the second day tomorrow...

It is the first UK Delivered, Vauxhall Spec Corsa (E) VXR (Opel versions have some differences in equipment) - and was presented in the new shade of Flash Blue - similar to Arden, but a bit darker/richer - VERY nice colour TBH.

It has the 205PS Engine from the current Clubsport model - this is now the 'standard' VXR Engine going forwards.
It has a Twin Exit Remus Exhaust.
It retains the Recaro Shell-back Seats, and Flat Bottom steering wheel.
Koni FSD Shocks are standard (Frequency Selective Damping)
As standard (UK Market) it also now comes with a Heated Windscreen, Bi-Xenon Headlamps, and the Intellilink Entertainment system.
This car also had a 'Carbon Appearance' pack - fake Carbon Mirror Caps and Grille Bar - not sold on this TBH.

This specific car also had the Panoramic Sunroof option, as well as the new Performance Package option - this sees it effectively being upgraded to the previous Nurburgring spec, with a couple of further updates;
- Brembo 4-Piston brakes (larger Discs than the previous Nurburgring Edition)
- Retuned Koni FSDs with a more 'aggressive' setup
- Drexler Mechanical LSD
- 18" Wheels with Michelin Pilot Sports.

I had a good look around - the interior quality is improved over the Corsa D - layout is much better, material quality seems improved, better equipment by far.
Cabin space seems identical to the Corsa D, but this was expected - the shell is a reworked Corsa D anyway.

A few pics (from phone...);

We were told by the VXR Brand Manager himself that the base model of the VXR is going to retail at less than the current base VXR model. He wouldn't discuss numbers today though. Shame...

He advised through a presentation that Vauxhall had sole over 9000 Corsa VXRs since release so far (all variant/editions) - hopefully this one is successful too.
It will be available to trial on the VXR Power Event track days later this year too...

Interior is nice as are those lovely Recaro's. Rear end looks pretty restrained and decent. Front end though, wtf were they thinking?

It's a metallic finish. Either a dark Grey or Black - couldn't tell for sure.

Front end is growing on me on these - seen a couple about now.
Interior is so much better than our D too.

GF is considering getting some quotes on the money side when they go to retail...

I like the front end on the vxr. I still think they look strange driving about with the huge rear lights.

Would it have killed them to come up with a new corsa...

Does nothing for me this.

Just look how much those rear lights stick out from the body of the car

Not enough changes to warrant it a Corsa E.

Those rear lights didn't notice that earlier.

That actually looks as if they've just got them off another model and done a jagcorsa mod

Dash looks like a major upgrade over the D, never liked the shallow heater dials that you couldn't actually get hold of. Or the toy town vents.

Can't wait to rag one around Oulton.

My Ds3 lights stick out. Is it bad?

Dash looks overtly generic VAG. But agree it's an improvement over the toy town dash, really wasn't taken with that.
