We're expecting our 3rd child due in early march and now have an impossible task of trying to find a suitable car that all the kids would fit in with all the seats etc.

Ages would be 4, 2 and newborn, so ideally looking for something with 3 proper full sized seats at the back.

I don't think a Q5 / X5 will be big enough and the wife doesn't really want anything as big as a Q7.
Options seem few and far between, but really didn't want to buy a 'bus' if we can help it.

The only other thing is a slightly sporty Ford C-Max....

Any other ideas / suggestions?

That's an S Max in the pic.

My brother has one, similar trim to that one. Drives lovely and is massive inside, probably a lot cheaper to run than a Q7 etc. and you'll also get a newer one for the same money I guess.

Yes, actually ment the S Max

They even have some 200 / 237 bhp models that don't look too bad

Ive got a S-max 2.0tdi titanium,. had it 6 months now & its been fantastic for what we need. 3 kids in class 1 child seats, a double pram & a buggy always in the boot and still space for loads more. Its nice to drive as well, doesn't feel overly big. I'd maybe look at a Galaxy as well if buying again.

Thought about a 4x4 but the only ones that would take the 3 baby seats over the middle was XC90 or a Discovery, she didn't like the Volvo & I didn't like the cost associated with a disco.

I would say however if the 4yr old is in a booster seat then I'd think a big old estate would be more what you need, A6 avant or something.

Exactly, the difference in running costs between an S-max & a new premium 4x4 allows me to run a second car!

Is that petrol engine?

Ive got a 140bhp diesel & to be honest is more than adequate, never feels under powered.

We use an S-Max as a pool car at work, surprisingly capable and quite good fun to drive believe it or not.

Big inside too and as mentioned doesn't feel big to drive so the wife will be happy.

Galaxy is bigger.
