Check you with your English slang terms!

Ordered the White Jamo A102 HCS6 set, £249 and a free Mug. Not bad at all.

Debating ordering the other two satellites from that address you sent Alex, although going through my collections of BD's it seems not a great deal is actually 7.1 but seeming as they are going to discontinue these soon I would like the set to match!

Nice one. Bet you can't wait to get everything plugged in.

I wouldn't bother with 7.1 personally. As said, hardly makes a difference.

Spend the money on a few 3D films or put it towards a console or something else that'll make a bigger difference than cluttering up your room with more speakers and wires.

Opened it up even though I have nothing to connect it to

Remote doesn't look great, reviews said this. It has so many buttons! Allegedly there is an app that means you can set it up a lot easier so will see when it's all plumbed in. Not sure when speakers come, but as you said I'm not sure if im fussed by 7.1 now. But still want to get them before they discontinue them so they all match #ocd

You're right though, £100 towards the tv or a 3D be player!

I'm impatient and santed new gear in the end! Thanks anyway.

Just installed everything and so far I am tearing my hair out with the wifi dongle supplied with the AVR. IT WILL NOT connect to my network. Every light is blinking as it should after the barmy setup procedure but it will not connect. Without this it is very hard to set the thing up because it is all done via the Pioneer app!!

Connecting via WPS, both units seem to agree but when you connect... Nothing.

There's no way you can set it up using on screen menu like every other AVR on the market?

Sounds a bit strange that they force you to use an app.

Can do basic setup, but more advanced features are on the App.

Also, every time I turn my BD off it forgets I've switched to HDMI Audio

Hurry up Xmas! Jamby needs a new BD player

Right, finally got it working as it should be

Sounds amazing! So clear and precise yet so powerful. Took a good few goes with the auto calibration tool and the wifi setup was a fucking episode. But all sorted.

Main problem I have now is nativity with space.. Not sure how the 55" TV is going to fit

TV is now in the sale, down to £649

Have an issue with space due to the AVR now, so I am not sure I am going to go for it. £650 for a 55" TV is bonkers value. But then would have to scrap a perfectly good TV stand and buy another which would be about £80 so might leave it. Only other option is to modify the TV stand as such, get a smaller white shelf to elevate the TV over the AVR but it will more than likely look a bit weird?

Nice pow! Pics when installed please.

Right anyone know if there is such a thing as a vertical TV stand? I.e a large pole with a base and a bracket? That way I could place this behind the current stand and mount the TV clear of the unit and keep it still.

Could always make one I suppose as I still have my wall bracket from the old house hanging around.

Search for "TV floor stand" on eBay. There's loads like that.

Interested to hear your thoughts on the Pioneer, I'm tossing up between that & the Sony STRDN850. The Sony is currently slightly winning simply due to being more powerful.

I was going to go down to Richer Sounds & talk to them a bit to make sure it meets my requirements. One thing I want to do is plug all my hdmi's (xbox 360, Virgin, wdtv) into the amp and then just have 1 hdmi's going to tv, you can do this can't you?

Graham I was originally after the Sony as it had rave reviews and seems as the best bang for your buck. However the Pioneer was £100 cheaper so for me it was a no brainer! It's still in the Richer Sounds sale, has pretty much all the features the Sony has (WiFi isn't built in but you get the adapter, the setup is over complicated and finicky but not impossible)

If money isn't an issue then I guess the Sony would be the better choice, but I doubt it is £100 better if you get me

Oh and ref the HDMI's then yes you can.

I have Xbox, Bluray, laptop, PC all plugged in the the amp and one HDMI to the TV. Each input can be assigned a certain setup Etx and you can rename them too. The pioneer has a really really good app with it to adjust settings and also use as a remote etx
