My dad has a toolbox in his boot. It has an 14" cast steel monkey wrench, various metal extension bars, and about 4 12" screwdrivers. Is he going to get charged for owning an armoury of weapons because of this?

twice a week in summer I carry a 12 ball shotgun, a .177 webley tracker and a .22 webley vulcan.
I also carry a skinning knife.
Am I going to be hunted down and raped. oh by the way they are all legally registered and are kept in gun cases in the car, and at home they are in a correctly fitted gun cabinet

No, If it is genuinely belived it is for tools of the trade then fine, also it has to be readily accessible to the driver, i.e door compartment or glove box where you know it is and that you must have the INTENTION to use it as a weapon, so all I wanted to see was how many said...Self defense.

Lets be honest here, i've got a maglite about a foot long, and its there for the obvious car reasons, but also incase some pikey starts there pish WITH a weapon. I would never use it on a defenceless buddy.

what about if on the way back I stop for a maccy d's ( even tho there isnt one nearby) leave the car unnatended for an hour or so, go into town, buy a new pair of socks and then go home - 4getting to go to the gunclub, cause I spent too much time choosing socks - I then have no reasonable excuse as to why I should be carrying the guns - albeit through no true intention of wrongdoing.......

I know... but how do I prove i wasnt simply carrying them with the intention to shoot up the hood i live in?

Basically, even if the Police find the Maglite in your glovebox, they cant really say much because its a torch, and so is there for a purpose. Unless of course a car/person matching your description has been seen using said torch to threaten someone... then you up shit creek
