I was sat in computing class in high school. A few days later all the 'wingdings' font jokes came out.

The windings font for the plane two towers and a death symbol supposedly equated the flight number when converted to a normal font

Tragic tragic event.

I remember I dropped some work off to a mate who wasoff school sick with really bad flu, and the mentioned it.

I also remember 7/7 in that the same mate got a rather worrying txt from his dad who was working in London. Then lost contact because they shut down the phone signal in London.

To think I was 13 going on 14 is mental.

Also to think the technology back then, people mentioning Yahoo and turning the TV on! All the recordings on VGA "smart" phones. Imagine if it was recorded today. Would be so vivid.

I was in art listening to the radio, was surreal listening to it unfold. Imaginations running wild all over the class.

I remember being in a lesson at school and having a minutes silence. Will have been 12 at the time!

Went to New York 2 years ago, always wanted to go and happy to say I've been. Ground zero is a very strange place. Even then 10 years on can still tell its a very eerie quiet place and people just take in what's there.

One of the new ones was about half way up then too.

I remember being at work when it happened. Hardly any work got done - everyone was trying to get internet streams etc working but they were all falling over left right and center. No-one was setup for the amount of traffic the news sites & channels were getting.

I think some of the most harrowing comments have been from the people who managed to get out but all they heard was "Thud...Thud...Thud" They did not look but knew it was people just falling to the ground.

Apparently the colour of his skin did not bother him it was the fact he had the wrong hat on! The guy dissapeared after the event and only re-surfaced after the film was released.

Did they?

This is quite an interesting read, especially considering it's from the BBC themselves:

I was working for an American company at the time, there was a video conference going on to the office in New York (not in the towers) which suddenly cut off, we then got a phone call to explain what had happened... Very, very freaky at the time.

I was at school in ict and a teacher came running in and told us never forget it..

Went New York in 2009 and done the ground zero tour and tbh was more upsetting than anything I've ever seen.

My mother was a police officer in London city when 7/7 happened and had to deal with some of the aftermath.
