Just ran a 24.05 5k. It's isn't quick by normal standards but I've never been and still am no runner. Chuffed to bits tbh. Got a charity 5km in December. Aiming sub 23mins which would be amazing for me. I will be dressed as Santa tbh but I ran a 27 last time

I'm running 5km twicw a week and then after the 5km run in Dec i'm gearing up for the Manchester 10km. Might need some advice on training strategy to bridge the gap. Furthest i've ever run currently is 5km!

So I was approached today at work to see if I was interested in doing a one mile leg of a 4 person corporate four mile relay. Unfortunately I can't as I'll be away when it's on, but it got us talking and more importantly wondering how fast we could do a single mile.

My current 1 mile PB of 6:14 was set during a 5km run back in Decmber 2012 and I wanted to give it a go at dipping under this. I started with a 400m jog and stretch, then basically legged it for a mile!

I'm chuffed to say that I beat both my KM and Mile PB's:

New KM PB - 3:12
New Mile PM - 5:21

4:30 1k
23:27 5k
51:15 10k
Half marathon 2:11 last september

Looking for lots of improvement in the long distances, not so fussed about the short

The more you do over long distances the better you get. You are well on target for sub-2hrs for a half.

Well done on the sub-50 min 10k!

I am shit at running but gonna start getting on it again over winter. Few off road duathlons I want to get involved in starting in November so will start running couple of times a week after work. Only live a 2 minute walk from the beach so gonna get down there up and down the prom.

Also.... 203 5k!!!! Nice! My PB is like 27

Ran Scotland Tough Mudder (just under 12 miles + 24 obstacles). Did 3, 4 mile runs in preparation...

Hardest most eduring thing i've ever done. Don't know what i was expecting running 12 miles with no training @ 16st 10lbs.

Took me 3hrs 20mins.

Ended up not nearly as bad as it could have been, bit of a downpour 30 minutes in but better after that.

1st target 20
2nd target 1:51 (to beat my manager)
3rd target 1:46 (girlfriends brother)

Finished in 1:45:43, mega! Proper chuffed with that, such a good run. Awesome

Well done. Got 1.47. Started too fast and was struggling between 11 and 12 mile. Was it the great north you were doing?

Yeah, GNR.

I did the opposite, really slow first 2 miles stuck behind slower people until i found some space. Great last 2 miles brought the time right down :-)

Good time mate, well done! What colour band did you start in?

I was meant to do my first ever Parkrun this morning; my alarm went off and I was still knackered so I abandoned the idea.

Feeling a lot more awake I went for a 17 mile bike ride this afternoon with friends.

Having missed my run this morning I still wanted to set a 5K benchmark so I went out tonight and clocked a time of 21:47.

The aim will be to beat this at the Parkrun I WILL be doing the first Saturday in November.

Done first bit of road running since the start of the year. Only did just over 3.3 miles averaging 8:22 per mile which I'm well happy with. Aim to get that under 8 minutes a mile by March now I have a little loop worked out. Weirdly I run faster on the road than I do on a treadmill...
