It will still be getting hammered, don't expect to get anything off there for a couple of days.

Just restore through iTunes, job done

Don't have to fanny about resetting binary counters with triangleAway or whatever it is like rooted androids.

I tried that but it wouldnt restore. Gave me an error code every time i tried, if i remember correctly. Looked it up on the net and mentioned something about a 3rd party app could be causing the issue, such as the JB.

Very few android phones have root counters and Triangle Away is Samsung specific.

You're like the Daily Mail of Android

It's extremely rare for the IMEI to go blank and even then it's relatively straight forward to put it right.

You probably have more chance of winning the lottery than your IMEI going blank.

I only just got a new phone as I broke mine at the weekend, if I jb it, and break my phone again or it needs to be replaced by apple, does a simple restore just take it back to how it was, or do they know?

They probably can detect if the phone has been jailbroken even after a restore but i doubt they bother to check every phone that comes in so i wouldn't worry about it. Just make you sure you do a restore before handing it in.

Given you're specifically wanting to change the layout, I can guarantee you'll jailbreak, set-up some fancy theme and after a few days realise that a 6 x 4 grid of icons is the best layout for optimal use of your phone. You'll just get frustrated having to do more work to do anything with any other layout.

If you're keeping the same 'grid' layout the only theme worth having in 'Ayecon'.

No, it happens on iOS/iPhones as well.......

And rooting is not the same as jailbreaking and rooting doesn't cause zero'd IMEI (that's usually dodgy ROMs or people not following instructions properly).

Exactly.

Android rooting - backup your IMEI, backup your clockwork mod recovery thingy majig, move your triangle further away to distress your binary counter, flash the ASOKP rom three times whilst singing N-sync - 'It's gonna be me' backwards in the mirror.

What could possibly go wrong.

iPhone jailbreak - click this button.

Evaders apparently took over £40k a day in donations in the few days prior to it's realse. (but of course they only do it for the love of the scene).

No, not at all. I've been going through some of the most recommended jailbreak apps and it's all shit. So far I've only installed a few and already the phone's been doing some random things like throwing up a "Safari isn't connected to the internet" message that I've never seen before and required a reboot.

The NCSettings recommended in this thread is perfectly useless.
Basically it gives you access to four buttons in the pull down Notifications Center:
WiFi toggle, volume, screen brightness and rotational lock.

I don't have a habit of turning off my WiFi, brightness is adjusted automatically and both rotational lock and volume are already in the multitasking menu not to mention the volume can be adjusted with the perfectly adequate buttons on the side of the phone.

Will mess around with some themes, but I suspect I'll be restoring the phone soon enough.
