Tbh i reckon if you can get a real dark red/burgundy type colour then it could work.

How much does the dye cost? 'Cus you may find if you dye it black first and then red over the top it may end up going dark red.

Dunno if thats the same as NovaGTE2s but it looks pretty good.

It's 30 quid for the dye, enough to do about 4 or 5 coats I reckon.

Obviously I will need to remove the black dye first and it's time consuming applying it, so won't be done until it gets warmer.

i imagine the red roof dye on grey would give quite a dark colour, so wondered whether it would work or not.

Think it needs to be a darker red than that to work with that colour. More like maroon

Can't say I'm a fan of the idea, but I'll guarantee that it will not work with red dye.

As much as I dislike the idea, it's bound to look even more shit with a bodged DIY attempt.

From what I remember the Renovo red is reasonably close to the colour of the Astra convertible red roof, so isn't too in your face.

I'm not sure if it'll work or not - will just have to see it done

I think it would revive the black and look a very dark red/black.

For sake of £260 off that chap I would buy a red one rather than try change the colour. You would get that back for yours on eBay if you needed money
