He deserved his chance tonight anyway. Hart's form has been shocking, his confidence is clearly low and it was a friendly. A perfect opportunity to test Forster who has just had 2 outstanding games against Barca.

As much as I disregard the Scottish league, you're bang on there Hammer.

Gotta go on form, especially with keepers, and in meaningless friendlies

There was a lot of talk when Forster was with us whether or not he was a better prospect than Krul would have been interesting to see if he could have displaced him given another season

Krul is a good keeper but Forster, for shot stopping, is a level above.

Forster has 1 weakness, which is kicking. In every other aspect he is quality and his stats are superb, he owns the clean sheet record for League 1 and the SPL both before turning 22 years old.

Only problem I have is, if he doesn't get international recognition whilst at Celtic - he is almost guaranteed to go back down the road.

I watched the highlights and they were awful from the start but played well when they got the 2 goals and as soon as the subs were made they went back to awful. They could probably of won if there wasnt any changes but i guess that's what a friendly is all about. Wasnt the worse friendly iv seen tbh, and that was with a proper silent crowd.

As I said during the Euros, Ibra is a fucking machine and that goal was pretty impressive.

I used to think he was a bit shit but you look at his goal tally and trophies and he's been a success everywhere. Even at Barcelona he did well even though it didn't work out for him

He is a very good player yet for some reason attracts hate.

Goal was quality but not 'the best goal ever' as I have seen quoted this morning!

Sinclair's overhead kick for QPR was better.

I preferred the volley he scored against England in the Euro's. He at least had an in form goalkeeper to beat standing where he should be.

He also scored a beauty whilst at Ajax, beating the entire defence before cheekily slotting past the keeper.

The Ajax goal showed his genius brilliantly. Don't think he even got past walking pace as he ripped the piss out of the entire defence and goalie.

I agree with hammer on this one, which is astrange as its the normal thing id expect to find myself arguing with him about. I think the goal, although very spectacular was made easy(er) by the bad decisions and it was basically an open goal.

Also, although he obivously meant it, I think it was still lucky that he got it just right at that particular moment in time, he would probably try that 500 times in training and only get it once.

That would mean that 9/10 goals are lucky Steve? Shit goalkeeping but still a fantastic effort.
