Not sure about the top loading drive, could make it a royal PITA if you have it kept in an AV rack etc

Yes, I could understand if it was the size of the PS2 slim, but at this size a tray would have been ideal.

Comes with 500 GB HDD or 12 GB flash storage, with option to install HDD afterwards.

Flash memory would be nice, but 12 GB is a bit of a joke.

WTF - I have my PS3 laying flat on a shelf on my TV stand, it's not a very high shelf, so that top loading is going to be a nightmare.

Is this supposed to be 'slimmer' than it looks in the secon picture? Beacuse from that it doesn't look very slim at all...

I also only use mine for games, hence wanting faster and better wifi.

Unless their sole target are people like Ian who wire CAT5 in the whole house, I think no 802.11n is a huge cock up.

I'm not sure much can be done about the noise, but the hard drive is a piece of piss to change.

Yeah, I'm just lazy.

You can fit a fan with more blades to help the noise I heard.

This new one looks pretty poor imo, and the white one is even worse. Top loading is going to be a problem to most people I reckon. My slim one is on a shelf under the tv on a tv stand - it would be a huge pain having top loading. And not just because the stand has a massive downstanding support right across the front because it was made for a 32" CRT
