Ithink all this "big club" stuff is bullshit. What have Villa done in the last 20 years?

I'd say Norwich have more chance of qualifying for Europe next season than Villa.

Villa have alot more potential than Norwich. For years MO'N guided them to consistent top 6 finishes. This will just further prove how terrible Big Eck was.

Feel sorry for Norwich & Swansea. Come up to the Premier League, do quite well then end up getting your managers poached.

Villa have no money and a chairman who has fallen out of love with the club.

Yes, they have a lot of good youngsters, and are historically a bigger club, but does seem a weird decision imo.

Ironically I think Norwich have finished higher in premiership history than Villa have (off the top of my head they were 3rd or 4th in the early years weren't they?)

I reckon he'd be silly to take it personally, unless he hits the ground running Villa are a club on the slide. Mainly due to McLeish.

Either that or Lerner has promised him some decent dosh.

I guess that's so they can hold out for compensation if Villa offer him the job

Fucking glad Norwich fans now know how it feels.

This is exactly what they did to Colchester so I hope they get fuck all for him.

There's only 1 job he's waiting for- Celtic. Talent in abundance, yet no morals, no loyalty and no class

Get yourself to fuck

He will never manage Celtic, I guarantee you that. Not because we wouldn't want him either, he is in the big boys playground now and has done his time in this backwards little country.

As a player and a man he oozes class. Your comments are pure bitterness.

He's always wanted it according to many down here, he only didn't apply last time because he wanted Lennon to get it.

Seriously? He walked out on us at 9am on a match day. Our first home game of the season. We won at Norwich 7-1 on the opening day then on the tuesday night we were at home to Gillingham and he walked out that morning. Not an ounce of class.

Look at what he's done to Norwich now, as much as i'm enjoying the farmers moaning, that club has helped his managerial career progress massively, yet he still resigns when he gets in a mood so they wont get any compensation.

He oozed class as a player, and he oozes talent as a manager now. I stand by no morals, loyalty or class though

I am a Norwich fan and it will be sad to see him leave, a bit wierd in the way in which he has carried it all out though.

Personally, if he doesn't take the Villa job I hope he doesn't come back tbh, Holt tweeted earlier about a story which had came out about how Lambert may be going to villa and seemed quite happy tbh.

Wouldn't mind seeing Hughton, Culverhouse, Poyet or even Makay as the next manager.

Reason resignation has been rejected is believed to be so we can get compensation for him.
