Would be good to see this in the end all sorted up and back to near mint/factory condition.

But i kinda also agree with big eck. Seems like its gonna be alot of money just thrown away in the end. Not so bad when its over a long period of time, but when you have it planned out it kinda makes it like a waste of time/money.

Why not an old Mk1/2 Escort, something with value at the end of it, but still a cool project.

In my eyes it's his money to do it with. In anyone else's eyes it's wasting money modding a car which near most of us do on this forum. My car's had a lot more thrown at it than it's worth but I enjoy it and don't really care what people think.

I have had a lot of people telling me how to spend my money over the years "I have to much" "you should do this" "for that money you could of had...." " you spent all that on a corsa" I have always spent my money on things in life I really want to do, don't see the point following other peoples dreams or cost effective buys that's not my interest it's not me.

Yeah hands up this is going to cost me a fortune ! I couldn't care less, I said it was something I would love to do I'm just glad it's all started

Tut tut tut mate, should have known better coming on here and looking for approval off other 'corsa' enthusiasts for restoring a corsa GSi which there are not many left of and are becoming rare...

Why restore MK1/2 Escorts? Rs Turbos etc?...because they are rare...yes GSi's might not have much of a monetry value the now but the value of them is only going to climb

Fair play mate cant wait to see it started

I can see the appeal but surely it would have made more sense to buy a more original, better base to start with. If your going to be super anal with it then things like the engine not being the original etc will surely be a negative.

All the best with it though!

I can see I've upset some of the local followers lol. I'm not telling you how to spend your money pal so get that notion out your head for a start. If you want to spunk a load of cash on a standard Corsa then charge on, it's your money. I personally would love to do the same with an old xr2. I just would have bought something a lot cleaner to start with. Anyways I'll leave you to it in case there's a hit put out on me lol.

Shocked at some of the things I thought everyone would have loved what your doing but this is cs after all

Where's the sense of acheivement in getting an already clean shell and just freshening it up. I've seen this close up and for most, it's ready for scrap which is exactly what Ryan wanted. He wants to see it go from ready for scrap to showroom clean. End of the day, the worse nick it's in now, the more likely he's not going to miss any hidden bits that could spoil all his hardwork in the future.

Haven't spoken to him for years, still killing cars lol think he's being sued for it to.

I'm still debating a lot of plans, genral feel ATM I would like to build it to its original spec, but with the parts to do some light mods when I want... Engines going to be built with a lot of overkill tho, just I case I get the urge to do something down the line , but will defo be hands on with this one thanks to mr jess

After reading the last few posts I really dont think you knopw what your letting yourself in for.

Anyone that thinks buying somthing like that rather than a straight, rot free shell is bananas. You cant seriously tell me you think replacing quarters, inner arches, chassis legs etc etc makes it a better project? However hard you try it will never be 100% as it would have been. Ridiculous way of thinking.

I know what I'm letting myself in for I wouldn't even entertain doing it if I didn't, will see its full extent after the shells been dipped, that's if there still is a shell lol.
