After a lot of thinking I sold my S1 Escort RS Turbo in march to a fella in the isle of lewis, had been thinking about it for a few months was using her less and less each year and the car was more and more becoming something that just sat doing nothing, which really wasn't working and became pointless even owning it, and off she went in the pissing rain i had kept it out of all the years i owned it .

Last year i had spoken to a few people at shows, meets and a few sleep overs about how i would really like to get a clapped out GSI due for the scrap heap and basically rescue it. Today with Mike and ians help i manged to bag myself a Corsa Gsi that was for sale here for £350 with a 1.6 8v on bike carbs.

Needs some heavy work to get it in the pristine condition i really want it to end up in, can see this taking me years to perfect from every bolt up, but really keen to get stuck into it me and Mike have had a good laugh at it today, but really want this to be the best project i have and will ever do in my life

Will get a project build up and update it here when i have enough things to make the posts intresting, but update my facebook page as i go, logging its every flaw and progression hopefully having it all to look back on when its finished.... Its rough as hell as you can see by the vid and pics but its exactly what i was after.

That old 8v is breathing a bit heavy.

Should be pretty good when it's done. I'm pretty tempted by a small block project, myself.

I mean this in the best possible way, but that is a complete shed It's what you were after though, and an ideal hardcore restoration project, so bang on

Yeah it is going to take a lot to get it immaculate already decided to replace both rear quarters and inner arches and expect more when I strip it down totally, I plan to build it over years but with good progress annually so everything is 100%.

I just don't see the point in spending years restoring an old corsa which will cost you a small fortune, sorry for the lack of enthusiasm mate
