Cheers mate. AFAIK there are only 3 z4's with red/burgundy roofs as none came from the factory like this. One lives near me and is silver and the others In Scotland and the same colour scheme as mine, so pretty rare.

New roof looks awesome, changes the whole car.

Silver wheels will really finish it off

The headlining is the original one. It's a 3 layer roof. Top is the fabric, then a waterproof membrane underneath and finally the headlining. They just replaced the top fabric, which is a 3 ply composite.

Oh and update on the Fiesta. Ordered a new one

It was cheaper to get a new one than to keep this one. Not sure how but it is

going for exactly the same. Only difference is the new one is a 2016 model so has LED rear lights

The only colours are Blue, Black, Red, White and Molten Orange and she only likes the White

Replaced the idler pulley and oil filter housing gasket today. Not a difficult job, just a bit oily

Idler pulley was making a horrible squealing noise which was embarrassing and annoying. Only 1 bolt holding that onto the alternator.

Oil filter housing gasket was a bit harder as you need to remove the belt, alternator and filter housing (obviously).

But yeah, replaced and hopefully no more oil leaks. Just need to clean the side of the block as it's a mess at the moment.

Only jobs left now are the handbrake and change the brakes. That'll be a Xmas job

Discs and pads are low so bought new stuff.

Textar Epads. I believe they're ceramic pads which are low dust. Supposed to be pretty good.

Also got some pagid handbrake shoes and pad sensors as might aswell replace them when the discs come off.

I also replaced the broken locking fuel cap mechanism with a 2nd hand part last week. The rod had snapped (it's only plastic), so after removing the rear wheel and arch liner, I was able to replace the rod and actuator easily enough. Nice simple job and one less broken thing

Just the handbrake and drivers door lock to fix.

Oh and I sold that Simota induction kit on.

I had a flat spot at around 1500rpm after I fitted it, Jambo. Not sure what happened, but I assume it was messing with the MAF. It has gone now the standard airbox is back on. Didn't want to affect driveability so sold it on for a bit more than I paid, so happy with that.

Gav, the pads have great reviews and the lack of dust is a massive benefit also. Supposed to be less than half the amount of dust that normal pads give out. They were £86 from carparts4less, so not much more than Pagid's.

Discs arrived. Look massive when not on the car. I paid extra for a silver coating so they shouldn't go rusty, hopefully!

If your doing rear shoes too get a fitting kit if you haven't allready the springs and pins will all be rusty as fuck and snap like most other bmws worth saving struggling for the sake of a 5er or so

Indeed, but the handbrake shoes sit inside the rear discs iirc.

I was thinking about that actually, Tom. Any idea where the fitting kits are available from, apart from BMW?

I still need to get the handbrake cables anyway, so not a big deal waiting for stuff. Won't be fitted until Christmas.
